Member Does Friesian Demo for National Horse Center
August 18, 2009
Once a month the National Horse Center located at the Kentucky Horse Park meets to discuss the issue that are on the fore front of the Horse Industry. In August in a joint effort with the Rocky Mountain Horse Association, it was FHANA's turn to host this event. With the Executive Director of the RMHA and FHANA we decided to introduce our breeds to the Horse Center as many of them are very unfamiliar with these wonderful horses.
FHANA member Ruth Baugh gave an indepth explanation using Clay Maiers Friesian Harley to do a history lesson on the breeding goals of the KFPS and FHANA. The members of the Horse Center were in absolute amazement when they found out just how the Friesian horse was almost extinct at one time. They were also impressed by how few approved stallions there were currently.
One member even said "If we all would have followed the same guidelines as you (/KFPS/FHANA), we would all be in a better situation during these tough economic times."
FHANA would like to thank Ruth for her time well spent introducing the Friesian Breed to the National Horse Center, and Clay Maier for the use of his Friesian Harley.
