MIDWEST EQUITATION SCIENCE CLINIC - TEACH AND RIDE BASED ON HOW HORSES LEARN

Thu August 09 - Fri August 10, 2018

Jody Hartstone is a world-renowned Equitation Science International (https://www.esi-education.com/about-us/) accredited coach specializing in science-based, systematic, ethical horse training using behavior modification principles of operant conditioning, positive and pressure-release reinforcement, habituation and shaping. She is one of the few coaches in the world extensively trained by the world’s leading equine clinical ethologist, Dr. Andrew McLean, PhD (accredited coach, neuroscientist in equine learning, Eureka Prize for Science, and founder of the Australian Equine Behavior Center – www.aebc.com.au). (Hear him speak on Equitation Science at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp0QYfYBnq4). Using this approach to training and riding results in a calmer, lighter and more obedient horse. The system is very EMPOWERING. Riders learn not only WHAT to do, but WHY it works. The rider also takes home the knowledge of HOW the improvements have taken place and the skill to keep improving their horse’s responses after the lesson. The approach is easy to learn and use by riders and horses of all levels, ages, stages and disciplines. All are welcome - your lessons will be in the format of your choice including dressage, jumping, pleasure, ground work or training/behavior). Jody is also willing to ride your horse during the lesson to demonstrate the training steps you need to achieve a specific behavior goal. Two-day clinic ($250) (includes 2 individual lessons) | One-day only ($125) (includes 1 lesson) | Day Auditor ($20/day) | Presentation-Only-Auditor 8a-9:30a daily ($15/day)
