Tour Descriptions:

Three Chimneys Farm-was founded in 1972 by Robert Clay.   Since that time it has become one of the premier Thoroughbred breeding facilities in the world.  There are multiple divisions encompassing 1,800 acres but the "jewel" of the farm is the unparalleled stallion barn designed by Robert Clay.   Three Chimneys is located in picturesque Midway, KY. just minutes west of Lexington.   This tour will culminate with a chance to observe a stallion breeding.   Don't miss this opportunity to view firsthand an amazing facility. (www.threeechimneys.com)

KESMARC-is a world class Equine sports medicine facility dedicated to the recovery and conditioning of high-end equine athletes.  The center offers equine swimming therapy, Aqua-tred, exercise gym, solarium and equine hyperbaric oxygen therapy.  They have a high success rate in bringing horses back from injuries.  KESMARC is located just west of Lexington........don't miss the Castle on your right just before you get there!   (www.kesmarc.com)

Hagyard Equine Medical Institute-is one of the largest equine surgical hospitals in the world with over 6,000 surgical procedures performed each year.  They boast an impressive facility and handle each horse with care.   They are located just across from the Ky. Horse Park entrance. (www.hagyard.com)

The Kentucky Horse Park-site of the 2010 World Equestrian Games, will offer you a chance to experience a variety of thrills from the newly constructed arenas, variety of horse breeds, beautiful visitor's center and gift shop and a large museum currently featuring THE HORSE from the American Museum of Natural History.  Set on over 1,200 beautifully manicured acres there are plenty of things to offer any visitor.   The Horse Park is also the location of many breed organization offices as well as the USDF, USEF and Pony Club headquarters and of course our very own FHANA office which will be open from 2-5 on Friday.  A special demonstration will be done on Friday and Saturday at 2:30 either in the Big Barn aisle or the Breeds Barn arena (depending upon the weather) by Jannie Giles, a very successful and long time Friesian and Saddlebred trainer from nearby Pleasureville, KY.  Jannie will use several of her own horses to present "101 Uses for your Friesian".   She will be comparing the different body conformations of our Friesians and how they can best be used to bring out their individual talents.   Jannie will also introduce the crowd to some simple and fun trick training methods that anyone can do with their horses.  Allow yourselves plenty of time to enjoy the Park and this demo.

The Kentucky Horse Park has offered all FHANA members buy one get one free entry with your FHANA membership card.  Otherwise fee is $7.00 per person.
