Member AwardsThe FHANA President's Trophy This award is for the promotion of the Friesian by an individual who may use multiple horses to achieve the highest score. This is a person who is best demonstrating the versatility of the Friesian horse. The highest scoring rider/driver is added to the perpetual Presidential Trophy which remains on display at the FHANA offices in Lexington, KY. All score sheets need to be submitted to the FHANA office by November 30 to be eligible.
Eligibility: Acceptance of competition results is contingent upon:

Scoring for each event is made of three parts:
1. Points are granted for each type of show. See the table below:
2. Points for your placing within the event, shown below:
3. Points for the total number of entrants in the class. The point value is simply the number of entries in the class.
The total score for a class is determined by multiplying the Show Points times the Placing Points times the number of entries in the class.
Example:
Suppose you participate in an CEF/USEF recognized event and that you placed 3rd out of 11 entries. This event would be scored as follows:
FHANA Performance AwardsThe FHANA Performance Awards are designed to reward FHANA members who are excelling in their discipline. There are two (2) FHANA performance Awards Dressage and Driving. The highest scoring rider/driver will be added to the appropriate FHANA perpetual trophy which will be on display in the FHANA office located in Lexington, KY.

Eligibility: Acceptance of competition results is contingent upon:
1. The rider must be a current member of FHANA at the time the scores are earned and the horse ridden must be an FHANA (FPS) registered Friesian;
2. Submitted show results must include at least one USEF / CEF recognized event;
3. Riders must complete and submit the following form with a copy of each test reported. Results may be randomly validated;
4. Rider/horse combination may include results from a maximum of ten (10) classes only - scores may only be from Dressage Classes.
5. Each rider/horse combination requires a separate entry.
6. Recognized competitions may be from the United States or Canada.

FHANA Performance Driving Award

Eligibility: Acceptance of competition results is contingent upon:
1. The driver must be a current member of FHANA at the time the scores are earned and the horse (team of horses) driven must be a FHANA (FPS) registered Friesian.
2. Submitted show results must include at least one ADS/CEF recognized event.
3. Drivers must complete and submit the form below with all the appropriate information. Submitted points may be randomly validated.
4. Drivers may include results for one horse or one team from ten (10) classes only . Pleasure Driving events may result in qualifying scores from more than one class.
5. Each driver/horse or team of horses requires a separate entry.
6. Recognized competitions may be from the United States and/or Canada.

Chapter of the YearThe Chapter of the Year is a program that was designed to acknowledge all of the efforts of each of the FHANA chapters throughout North America. Each chapter is unique in how they participate within the organization and they help to promote the Friesian Horse. The Chapter will receive points in each of the following categories:
The Chapter of the Year will receive a plaque from FHANA and would be presented during the following years Annual General Meeting. There will also be a perpetual trophy that will stay in the FHANA headquarters in Lexington, KY. The Chapter of the Year will also be eligible a $500 grant. The money will have to be applied for much like all clinic funds are applied for to verify it is being allocated properly and must have final Board approval.
Each Chapter will be required to track their volunteer hours and participating competitions. These Chapters of the Year applications will need to be submitted by November 30th of each year so that we can make a timely announcement prior to the Annual General Meeting
Chapter of the Year Example Sheet Chapter of the Year Instructions Born in the USA Friesian Affaire’s Breeder’s Cup FHANA All-Breeds USDF‘Born in the USA’ is the only awards program of its kind in the country; It was developed to recognize and reward the achievements of Friesian horse breeders through their sport performance horses in North America. Here, we honor the pursuit of honest competition and passion for breeding remarkable horses.
'Born in the USA' Breeder's Cup Award Criteria:
Breeder must be a member of FHANA in good standing when horse was foaled. The award may be distributed posthumously. If alive, the breeder must still be a member of FHANA and in good standing when award was earned. Breeder must be a US or Canadian resident or citizen.
There is no FHANA membership requirement for the rider.
Horse owner must be member of USDF and FHANA and be in good standing when award is earned.
Horse must be registered with FHANA. Horse must be registered with USDF under the current owner of record at FHANA. Horse must be shown under it's exact KFPS/FHANA registered name. Horse must be foaled (or born) in the USA, US territory or North America. Horses need not be conceived in the USA to qualify.
Award Eligibiltiy:
Highest scoring horse: Scores calculated from all USDF Open classes (First Level through Grand Prix) including freestyles will be counted: Final results are median scores calculated by the USDF year-end final standings published on the USDF website of qualified horses only. A minimum 60.00% median establishes qualification with 8 scores.
All eligible scores are automatically recorded by USDF, nothing needs to be sent into FHANA. Eligibility determined by breeder’s address on horse’s registration papers on file with the FHANA.
